Connecting a custom domain and pointing DNS
Connect your own domain: add it, point the right DNS records (A for the root, CNAME for www), then verify — including domain limits and the SSL activation step.
Connecting your own domain happens under Settings → Domains in three steps: add the domain → point DNS → verify.
Step 1: Add the domain
Enter your domain on the Domains page. The page then shows the values you need for the DNS records.
Step 2: Point your DNS records
From your domain provider's panel (Cloudflare, GoDaddy, Namecheap, or another):
| Domain type | Record type | Value |
|---|---|---|
| Root (apex) | A | The IP address shown on your Domains page |
| www and subdomains | CNAME | stores.myxorders.com |
stores.myxorders.com is a CNAME target, not a nameserver. Do not change your domain's nameservers to it — that common mistake breaks your email and other services.
Step 3: Verify
Return to the Domains page and press verify. DNS propagation can take a while depending on your provider.
Domain limits
- A maximum of two domain groups.
- The root and www count as one group.
One final step handled by the XOrders team
Once DNS connects successfully, final activation and the storefront SSL certificate require a manual follow-up by the XOrders team. So domain connection is not fully self-serve — if DNS is done and the domain still isn't live, this is the remaining step.
